Shagdarjavin Chimeddorj

Gestures in motion

“I met Shagdarjavin once at the Venice Biennale, where he was selected to exhibit at the Mongolian pavilion in 2017. We do not share a common language other than that of art, and were introduced by a mutual friend.” – Darshana Shilpi Rouget, Founder

Shagdarjavin Chimeddorj (b. 1954) is a laureate artist in Mongolia, awarded the State Award by the President of Mongolia in 2007 and the Meritorious Artist of Mongolia Award in 2013. His works are held in the permanent collections of eight museums across Europe.

Our collection brings together his dynamic, gestural portrayals of horses with the fluidity and elegance of finely crafted cashmere shawls, offered in limited editions.
