Born in Denpasar, of East Indonesian heritage, Joel Benguigui grew up in Paris, painting alongside his adopted mother. Joel’s photographic work with ballerinas Juliet Burnett and Misako Kato and his heavily textured paintings are loaded with emotion and bring out the fragility and power of nature.
